Nour El Sherif Exhibition to Open at The Factory

An exhibition celebrating the life and career of late Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif will open at The Factory in Downtown Cairo on August 29th, 2026. Entry will be free to the public.

Titled ‘Dear Mr. Nour El Sherif’, the exhibition will bring together personal belongings, original film posters, printed materials, costumes and accessories connected to some of the actor’s best-known works.

The displays are intended to give visitors a closer look at both El Sherif’s professional archive and the wider visual world surrounding his career, using memorabilia and period material to revisit different stages of his work in Egyptian cinema and television.

A number of actors and industry figures who worked with El Sherif are also expected to attend the exhibition.

Filmmaker Mohsen Hadid, who conceived the exhibition, said it forms part of a wider project dedicated to El Sherif’s legacy. A documentary carrying the same title is currently in production, with footage from the exhibition and its contents set to be incorporated into the film.

Hadid said the title was originally chosen for the documentary before being extended to the exhibition, with the project looking at both El Sherif’s artistic career and the personal archive he preserved over the years.
