Temporary Closures Scheduled for 6th of October Bridge May 28th-29th

6th of October Bridge in Giza will undergo closures across two days, May 28th and 29th, due to resurfacing and maintenance work on the bridge’s asphalt layer. Traffic police services will be stationed around construction zones to manage vehicular congestion, and the Giza General Traffic Directorate has highlighted specific detours to facilitate movement.

The maintenance schedule begins on Thursday 28th May, from 1AM to 9AM, affecting drivers coming from Al-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street who want to access the 6th of October Bridge toward Cairo. During this window, the traffic flow continues along Al-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street to the u-turn under the Dokki Bridge, loops back, and enters the bridge via the Nawal Street on-ramp instead.

The schedule continues on Friday 29th May, also from 1AM to 9AM, closing the route for traffic coming from Cairo via 6th of October Bridge heading toward Al-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street. Instead, the traffic flow diverts down the Shaheen Off-Ramp, which leads to Al-Mathaf Al-Zeraacy (Agricultural Museum) Street and connects back to Al-Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street.
