Saudi Health Risk Readiness Reaches 92% Ahead of 2030 Target

Health departments across Saudi Arabia's regions have reached 92% readiness to address health risks, achieving a key public health target ahead of schedule, according to the 2025 annual report of the Health Sector Transformation Program.

The report, issued under Saudi Vision 2030, highlighted progress in prevention and public health, alongside improvements in access to care, digital health services, workforce development and public safety.

Average life expectancy in the Kingdom climbed to 79.7 years, edging closer to the Vision 2030 target of 80 years. Meanwhile, primary healthcare services now cover 97.5% of population centres, including remote communities.

Digital healthcare usage also continued to expand. More than 31 million people used the Sehhaty application, while the Seha Virtual Hospital served over 365,000 beneficiaries through a network of 241 connected healthcare facilities.

According to the report, the Kingdom's healthcare workforce now exceeds 803,000 professionals. More than 35,000 physicians have also graduated from Saudi Board programmes.

Beyond healthcare delivery, the report pointed to broader public safety gains. Integrated efforts among government entities have helped reduce traffic fatalities by around 60% since the launch of Vision 2030, while emergency response times have also improved.
