Registration Opens for Saudi AI Professional Badge Programme
The first phase introduces AI Engineer and Data Scientist certifications under a national assessment framework.
Registration has opened for the Artificial Intelligence Professional Badges programme in Saudi Arabia, with applications beginning on August 4th, 2026, according to the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
Launched earlier this year during the International Conference on Data and AI Capacity Building, the programme's first phase covers two specialisations: AI Engineer and Data Scientist. The AI Engineer badge focuses on the practical skills required to develop artificial intelligence models and systems, while the Data Scientist badge centres on algorithm development and data analysis capabilities.
Applicants will be assessed through a standardised three-level evaluation framework supervised by an independent scientific committee comprising researchers, academics and experts from the public and private sectors. According to SDAIA, the framework is designed to evaluate scientific knowledge, analytical ability and practical skills through a consistent and objective assessment process.
The authority said the programme aims to strengthen Saudi national talent in artificial intelligence while providing organisations across sectors with a reliable benchmark for identifying highly qualified AI professionals. Applications can be submitted through the programme's official online portal.
