Region’s First Harry Potter Theme Parks are Coming to Abu Dhabi
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is expanding its Wizarding World with three new lands, bringing Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest to Yas Island.
For anyone who has ever wished they could walk through the brick wall at King’s Cross and emerge somewhere considerably more magical, Abu Dhabi may have the next best thing.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is set to add three Harry Potter-themed lands as part of a 63,000 sqm expansion on Yas Island, with construction already underway and completion targeted for 2029. An official opening date has not yet been announced.
The new areas will bring Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest into the park, each built around a different part of the Wizarding World.
Diagon Alley will recreate the hidden wizarding shopping district, while Hogwarts will centre on the castle and school itself. The Forbidden Forest will take visitors beyond the castle grounds into the darker woodland surrounding Hogwarts.
The expansion will also include world-exclusive Harry Potter rides developed specifically for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, although details of the individual attractions are still being kept under wraps.
Once complete, the project will become the first Harry Potter-themed experience in the Middle East and, because Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is fully indoors, the only entirely indoor Wizarding World destination in the world.
