Nine projects developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority have been nominated for the World Summit on the Information Society Prizes 2026, placing a range of Saudi digital solutions on the international shortlist.
The nominations cover projects across multiple categories, including government cloud services, biometric identity systems and artificial intelligence tools designed for Arabic-language processing.
Among the shortlisted entries is the AI Service Provider Accreditation initiative, known as AI Ethics Incentive Badges, which aims to promote compliance with ethical standards in artificial intelligence services. Other projects include platforms supporting secure access to digital government services through biometric verification and systems enabling the display of certified academic qualifications within government platforms.
The nominations also extend to cultural and language-focused technologies, including artificial intelligence tools for restoring historical media, large language models tailored to Arabic, and speech processing systems designed to handle Arabic audio content.
The World Summit on the Information Society Prizes 2026 recognises digital initiatives across sectors such as infrastructure, governance and innovation, with the shortlisted Saudi projects reflecting a focus on both public service delivery and language technology development.
