New Insurance Policy to Cover Crowded Venues & High-Risk Activities
The policy covers bodily injury and property damage to visitors at covered sites, with compensation varying by activity and risk level under defined terms and exclusions.
A new Third-Party Cooperative Insurance Policy has been launched for crowded venues and high-risk activities in Saudi Arabia, providing civil liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage affecting visitors and patrons.
Introduced by the Insurance Authority and the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the policy is intended to protect visitor rights while helping establishments manage the financial and operational impact of accidents at covered sites. Compensation will vary according to the nature of the activity and its associated level of risk.
The insurance will become mandatory under the relevant Cabinet decision and will form a key requirement for obtaining a General Directorate of Civil Defense licence for activities subject to compulsory coverage. Implementation will take place in phases, while individual claims will remain subject to the policy’s terms, conditions and exclusions.
The framework is also designed to standardise liability protection across venues and activities involving large crowds or elevated risks, while defining the responsibilities of operators and insurers.
