Dubai Municipality Sets New Standards for Outdoor Advertising
The new guidelines cover written content, images, logos, animations and interactive elements used in outdoor advertising across Dubai.
Dubai Municipality has introduced new Advertising Content Regulation Guidelines setting unified standards for outdoor advertising across the emirate.
The guidelines are intended for brands, agencies, designers, businesses, government entities and service providers working in outdoor advertising. They cover written content, images, logos, animations, promotional displays, interactive elements and the use of landmarks and symbols.
The standards address content clarity, design quality, consumer protection, public safety and respect for local identity and cultural values. They also take into account newer advertising formats shaped by digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Dubai Municipality said the guidelines are designed to give advertisers and creative teams clearer direction from the early stages of development, while making the review and approval process more consistent.
“Outdoor advertising is an integral part of Dubai’s urban landscape and the everyday experience of residents and visitors,” said Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality. “As the city continues to develop and advertising technologies evolve, it is essential that we maintain clear and consistent standards that support creativity while preserving the quality and identity of our public spaces.”
The guidelines complement existing advertising regulations by focusing specifically on content and creative execution, while also covering compliance with legislation, road user safety and the UAE’s societal and cultural values.
