Dubai Education Councils Expanded to Include Parents & Teachers

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai's education regulator, will introduce two new advisory bodies for parents and teachers at the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
The Dubai Parents Council and the Dubai Educators Council will each comprise 15 members selected through a transparent process designed to represent community perspectives and facilitate structured dialogue between schools and the regulator. According to the authority, 152 applications were received for the Parents Council and 160 for the Educators Council, including submissions from Emirati parents and teachers across the emirate.
The two councils are intended to support policy development aligned with the Education 33 Strategy. Their creation builds on the Dubai Students Council, which was introduced during the 2025-26 academic year to represent learners in Grades 9 to 12 across multiple curricula.
Since its formation, the student council has held 16 internal meetings, launched an interactive feedback platform and introduced a dedicated newsletter aimed at strengthening communication between students and policymakers.
