Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Launches AI Platform for Courts

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched the first phase of a Judicial AI Platform in cooperation with the Department of Government Enablement, introducing an AI tool designed to assist prosecutors and criminal courts with case analysis and legal research.

The initial release includes a “Judicial Assistant” that can analyse specific types of cases, recommend decisions, draft judgments and provide references to relevant legislation and judicial precedents. All AI-generated outputs are non-binding, with final decisions remaining solely with the competent judicial authority member under applicable law.

The Department said the platform is the first integrated system of its kind globally to use AI in support of judicial and legal decision-making while retaining full human verification and oversight.

The first phase is part of an 18-month roadmap that will gradually expand the platform across judicial workflows. Planned additions include real-time translation, automated hearing records and tools for detecting forged documents, alongside integration with criminal, civil and other departmental systems.
