Video Call Service for Legal Consultations Launched in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched a new service enabling lawyers and clients to conduct legal consultations through authorised video call applications, allowing meetings to take place remotely without requiring in-person attendance.

According to the department, users can submit, manage and track consultation requests digitally from start to finish, eliminating the need to visit service centres. Appointments can be scheduled in advance, with clients receiving legal advice through secure video calls at their chosen time.

The service can be accessed through multiple channels, including the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department smart app, the department's website, participating law offices and authorised typing centres. The department said the platform provides a secure communication environment, with consultations conducted under "the highest standards of privacy and security."

The initiative is intended to simplify the legal consultation process, reduce travel and maintain direct communication between lawyers and their clients while expanding access to judicial services.

The launch forms part of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department's wider digital transformation strategy. Earlier this year, the department announced plans to roll out what it described as the world's first integrated artificial intelligence judicial platform, with implementation scheduled to begin in September 2026 over an 18-month period to modernise judicial operations and streamline legal procedures.
