A Search is Underway for Egypt's Most Inspiring Fathers of 2026
Applications are open for Egypt's 2026 Model Father Competition, with 16 awards to be presented ahead of Father's Day.
Sixteen Egyptian fathers will be honoured this June as role models of paternal dedication, as the Ministry of Social Solidarity launches its 2026 Model Father Competition across all governorates.
The competition, now in its third year, honours fathers across four categories: ten awards will be allocated to the ‘natural fathers’ category, while each of the remaining three categories - fathers of children with disabilities, foster fathers under the kafala system, and fathers of Armed Forces and Interior Ministry martyrs - will receive two awards.
Several public figures who have supported Egyptian family values will also be recognised. Nominations can be submitted through Social Solidarity Directorates in any governorate.
For the natural father and disability categories, candidates must be at least 50 years old, hold an intermediate educational qualification or above, and have no more than three children, though that last condition is waived for residents of border governorates, including North and South Sinai, Matrouh, New Valley, the Red Sea, and Aswan.
All children must have completed or be currently enrolled in formal education. Foster father nominees must demonstrate equal treatment of all children in the household and show that their foster child received the emotional and social support needed for healthy development — and that the child has gone on to earn a university degree.
Applications are reviewed first at the governorate level before being passed to a central ministerial committee, and winners of the competition will be announced ahead of Father's Day on June 21st.
