Work Hours Reduced & Remote Work Introduced in Ajman Starting July 1st
Ajman’s new 'Balanced Summer' policy introduces remote Fridays and shorter work hours across government departments from July 1st to August 22nd.

Ajman has announced a new summer working model for government employees starting July 1st.
The 'Balanced Summer' initiative, approved by the Ajman Executive Council and chaired by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, will see all public sector employees shift to fully remote work every Friday until August 22nd. Working hours from Monday to Thursday will also be reduced to seven hours, running from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
The plan, which aligns with Ajman Vision 2030 and the UAE’s 'Year of Community', aims to support work-life balance, strengthen family bonds, and enhance environmental sustainability by cutting down on daily commuting emissions. Essential government services will continue to operate through flexible internal arrangements.
The Ajman Human Resources Department, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, will oversee the implementation and deliver a comprehensive report in September 2025 to assess the impact of the initiative on performance and community satisfaction.
