G Photo Corner is Cairo’s Most Luxurious Photobooth

As professional wedding photographers, Gihad Belasy and Ahmed Saleh - partners in both life and in work - take their photobooth seriously.

“We have been wedding photographers for years, and we kept noticing how guests would naturally create their own little ‘photo moments’ during events,” says Belasy. And while these snapshots hold so much personality and memory, the photobooths meant to facilitate them didn't always live up to the moment.

“Most photobooths felt like an afterthought,” Belasy explains. “We launched G Photo Corner because we wanted something more intentional. Something that felt elevated but still fun.”

What the Belasy and Saleh seek to offer is an extension of their photography practice - one where quality is not sacrificed for spontaneity. “What most people don’t realise is that it isn’t a simple plug-and-play booth," Belasy says. "We use professional camera equipment, proper lighting, and we calibrate everything before each event. It may look effortless, but it’s very controlled behind the scenes.” Belasy and Saleh took note of how differently their clients act in different contexts. When Belasy is behind the camera during a professional photoshoot, there is direction and intention, as she puts it, which results in a carefully composed image. “In front of a booth, on the other hand, people feel freer," she says. "They play more. They’re less aware of being watched. It captures a different kind of energy.”

In an increasingly digital world, G Corner offers something permanent. “I want people to walk away with something tangible. There’s something special about holding a photo in your hand.” Alongside digital copies, like a classic photobooth, people can walk away with physical copies. Keepsakes that will linger on in wallets, slipped behind phone cases, pinned on walls, or lovingly framed.

After the event is over and the booth is packed away, the host receives a full digital archive from the booth. A collection capturing their loved ones in their most free and unguarded essence, where they feel “relaxed. Not posed. Not managed. Just themselves.”

“Our intention is clear: create memories worth keeping, and turn them into timeless keepsakes,” Belasy remarks. So far, G Photo Corner has documented luxury weddings, engagement parties, Katb Ketabs, corporate events, and brand activations. Along the way, Belasy and Saleh have formed close relationships with their clients. “Weddings are emotions, and we genuinely love that. Over the past three years, we’ve been lucky to be part of some unforgettable ones.”

When asked about their future plans, Belasy is measured in her response. “Our goal is thoughtful growth. Not more events - better ones. And eventually, permanent installations in carefully curated spaces.” Honouring the permanence of the classic photobooth, the pair envision G Photo Corner becoming a "destination experience," not just something found at private events.
