SceneNoise Presents: Inside Sandbox [Episode 2] Sound Engineering
In episode two of an exclusive three-part series, we explores the festival's scientific music engineering with Tito El Kachab.
In exclusive three-part series, ‘Inside Sandbox’, SceneNoise gets to the heart of the invisible engine that powers one of the region’s most iconic electronic music festivals. Since its inception over a decade ago, Sandbox by Nacelle has evolved from an intimate seaside gathering into a monumental, annual cultural moment in El Gouna, Red Sea - one that brings together thousands from across the world each and every year.
In episode two, founder and CEO of Nacelle, Tito El Khachab, takes us into the technical blueprint of the festival: the music engineering. Far from just setting up speakers, the sonic identity of Sandbox is a 100% scientific operation that turns the natural landscape into a functional piece of technology.
We get insight on how the team utilises sand as a literal sound baffle, creating a unique layout where stages are close enough to walk between in minutes, yet sonically isolated for uninterrupted listening experience. From the invisible network of hundreds of kilometers of underground cabling to the high-pressure logistics of managing 70 different artist riders, we explore the relentless pursuit of technical perfection that ensures the festival goes as planned.
Sandbox Festival is set to take place May 7th-9th. Tickers are available at sandboxfestival.com.
Stay tuned for more from 'Inside Sandbox'.
