A New Public Park Is Opening in Ras Al Khaimah

A major public park in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Riffa is scheduled to open by the end of this year, with more than 70% dedicated to landscaped greenery. The development is part of three public parks currently under construction in the emirate, with four more in planning stages, and is being built on the site of a former residential area.

The park has been designed as an open, free-to-access, family-friendly destination. More than 20,000 square metres of green space will be landscaped with native species such as ghaf, neem, and sidr, while a central hill will provide a shaded viewing point.

Amenities will include children’s playgrounds, shaded and open sports courts for football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis, outdoor gyms, jogging and cycling tracks, a skate park, covered play zones, family seating areas, food truck spaces, retail outlets, and four prayer halls. Seven service buildings, ramps and access routes, and ten facilities for people of determination will also be incorporated, along with restrooms and nearly 100 parking spots, six of which are fitted with EV charging stations.

In line with Ras Al Khaimah’s green building regulations, the park incorporates sustainable irrigation systems using recycled treated water from the nearby Al Rifaa plant, supplying about 150 cubic metres every day. Every existing ghaf tree has been preserved, while mirrored layouts for facilities ensure shorter walking distances.

Safety measures will include CCTV, a public address system, and a dedicated security building. Instead of fencing, a perimeter green belt of trees will enclose the site.
