Italian Design Day Brings ‘Unreal by Design’ Exhibition to Cairo

Italian Design Day will bring a one-day exhibition titled ‘The Cabinet of Curiosities – Unreal by Design’ to the former Italian Consulate in Downtown Cairo on November 24th, as part of Cairo Design Week 2025. The event explores the boundary between the real and the imagined, using Italian design to show how creative ideas move from concept to physical form. The programme will feature a hands-on workshop, design talks and installations from leading Italian brands, creating a focused circuit of activity inside the historic consulate building. This year’s theme is presented as a journey led by a “nomadic muse,” a device used to highlight how Italian design often shifts between function and experimentation, following the early sparks where line, colour and form begin to take shape.
