Five Red Sea Film Foundation Projects Head to Venice Final Cut
The works-in-progress from the Middle East and Africa will be showcased to international producers and distributors through the Venice Production Bridge.
Five films supported by the Red Sea Film Foundation have been selected for the 14th Final Cut programme at the Venice Film Festival, an initiative that supports works in progress from the Middle East and Africa.
The selected titles include 'From the Quarter to Thursday', which received backing through the Red Sea Souk and Red Sea Labs, as well as four projects supported by the Red Sea Fund: 'Eldorado: Taste of the South', 'Mihal Safari', 'The Occupation and the State' and 'Bala'a'.
Part of the Venice Production Bridge, Final Cut provides filmmakers with an opportunity to present projects that are still in production to international producers, distributors and other industry professionals. The programme is designed to help participating films complete post-production while expanding their prospects for international distribution and festival screenings.
The selection adds to the Red Sea Film Foundation's growing presence on the international festival circuit, with its development and funding initiatives continuing to support filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the wider Middle East and Africa as they bring new projects to global audiences.
