World’s Largest Virtual Sign Language Class to Be Held in Dubai
Part of the Dubai Communicates in Sign Language initiative launched in October 2025, the session aims for a Guinness World Record and invites public and private participation.
Dubai will host what is set to become the world’s largest unified virtual sign language class on January 21st, 2026, as part of a Guinness World Record attempt. The online session will be open to participants from around the world and is designed to raise awareness of Emirati Sign Language and promote inclusion for people with hearing disabilities and People of Determination.
The event forms part of the ‘Dubai Communicates in Sign Language’ initiative, which focuses on integrating sign language into everyday life and improving accessibility across public and private sector services. Through large-scale participation, the initiative aims to encourage broader understanding of sign language and strengthen social inclusion at a community level.
Government entities, private organisations, universities, schools, and individuals are invited to take part in the virtual class. Each participant will contribute both to the record attempt and to wider efforts to normalise the use of sign language in daily interactions.
Registration for the event is available through the Dubai Communicates in Sign Language platform, with the session designed to accommodate participants joining remotely from different countries and time zones.
