A five-year strategy aimed at positioning the UAE among the world’s top 10 space nations has been approved during a Cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The plan was endorsed during a session chaired by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The UAE’s space sector is currently valued at more than AED 44 billion and includes over 170 scientific, national and economic entities. To date, the country has developed and launched 30 satellites, established a national astronaut programme and completed a mission to Mars, with further plans targeting Venus and the asteroid belt.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the resilience and operational strength of national institutions, pointing to defence readiness, coordinated government efforts and contributions from the private sector.
He also emphasised alignment across sectors to sustain development momentum under the leadership of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
In addition to the space strategy, the Cabinet approved an integrative medicine framework aimed at combining traditional and modern healthcare approaches, alongside a series of international partnerships in advanced technology sectors.
