UAE Ranked World’s Third Largest Humanitarian Donor in 2025

The United Arab Emirates was ranked the world’s third largest humanitarian donor in 2025 by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ Financial Tracking Service, with USD 1.46 billion recorded, equal to 7.2% of global humanitarian funding out of USD 20.28 billion. Only the United States and the European Union ranked higher. The United Nations data highlights contributions across emergency relief and recovery, noting both rapid responses to crises and support for longer-term programmes. Assistance included immediate relief such as food, medicine, shelter, and clothing, alongside development-focused projects in healthcare, education, energy, and infrastructure. The approach aligns with the ninth of the UAE’s ‘50 Principles’, which frames humanitarian assistance as a core element of national identity and a responsibility towards vulnerable communities.
