Petrol prices will rise in April 2024, while diesel prices are set to drop.
The Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee in the UAE has approved an increase in gasoline prices for April 2024, ranging between 11 and 12 fils per litre, while diesel prices decreased by 7 fils per litre compared to March 2024. Fuel distribution companies announced the new rates will be implemented from April 1st, and the new pricing will include a 5% value-added tax.
Depending on the type of vehicle you drive, getting a full tank of petrol in April will cost between Dh5.61 and Dh8.88 more than last month.
The criteria for fuel prices adopted by the Ministry of Energy are determined monthly, based on the average global oil price and the operation costs for distribution companies.
Petrol prices in the UAE have been rising from February onwards, and this is the third consecutive month of increase. However, prices are currently not as high as they were during the same period in 2023.
