Egypt's Engineering Exports Hit Record USD 709.7 Million in February
January–February engineering exports reached USD 1.187 billion, up 15.1%, with growth across Europe Arab and African markets and shipments to the United States and Argentina.
Egypt’s engineering exports reached USD 709.7 million in February 2026, up 37.6% year on year, marking the highest monthly level on record. Cumulative engineering exports for January and February totalled USD 1.187 billion, a 15.1% increase from the same period in 2025, according to the Engineering Export Council.
The council reported sector-wide gains in February. Metals recorded the largest rise at 77%, automotive components increased 43%, and electrical and electronics industries grew 20.8%.
Market reach broadened across Europe, with shipments to Hungary, Turkey, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia. In Arab markets, exports went to Libya, Sudan, Morocco, Lebanon, and Syria, alongside Asian markets including Qatar and Bahrain.
Activity also expanded in Africa, reaching Kenya, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, and the Central African Republic, with additional exports to the United States and Argentina.
Sherif El-Sayyad, Chairperson of the Engineering Export Council, said the council is working to open new markets while consolidating its presence in existing ones, with a focus on sectors such as automotive components and electrical industries.
