Transport Ministry Launches Bus Driver Training to Curb Road Accidents
A new free driver training programme in Egypt promises safe driving skills, professional certification, and job placement for those looking to work in heavy transport or public buses.

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport has launched a free training programme for aspiring bus and heavy transport drivers, offering certification and job placement through government-affiliated companies. Called 'An Aware Driver for a Safer Road', the initiative is being held at the Driver Training Centre on Wahat Road in 6 October City, overseen by the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport.
Participants will receive instruction in road safety, vehicle maintenance, and emergency handling, focusing on professional responsibility. Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir encouraged applicants with intermediate or higher-level qualifications to apply, stating, “This is an opportunity for young people to access stable jobs and contribute to road safety.”
Graduates will earn an accredited certificate and be eligible for positions in companies like EGBUS, SuperJet, Capital Taxi Company, and Nile Cargo Transport. Salaries will vary based on assignment, but are contingent on successful completion of the course. Registration is open now, with limited spots prioritised for early applicants.
