Self-Driving Cars to Make Tracks at Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League

The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL), a self-driving vehicle race, is set to take place at Yas Marina Circuit on April 27th.

Eight teams from the UAE, Germany, Italy, Singapore, US, Hungary and China are set to take part in the event. At stake is a USD 2.25 million prize purse, as teams battle to make their cars faster and drive smarter than the opposition.

All the teams in the race will be using a Dallara Super Formula SF23, which includes bespoke, self-driving capabilities designed specifically for A2RL. This is the fastest open-wheel race car in the world besides the Formula One car. Artificial intelligence also adds an element of intrigue to the race, as the vehicles continue to evolve during the practice runs at Yas Marina Circuit.
