The Riyadh Region accounted for 43.9% of all ride-hailing trips in the quarter, followed by Makkah Region at 22.13%.

Saudi Ride Hailing Trips Up 78% as Digital Rentals Hit 1.8 Million

Ride-hailing trips in Saudi Arabia rose 78% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025 to 39.04 million, while unified electronic car rental contracts reached 1.817 million, up 21% over the same period, the Transport General Authority reported.

The Riyadh Region accounted for 43.9% of all ride-hailing trips in the quarter, followed by Makkah Region at 22.13% and the Eastern Region at 14.5%. Other regional shares were Madinah at 5.76%, Aseer at 3.55%, Qassim at 3%, Tabuk at 2.49% and Hail at 1.85%. Smaller shares were recorded in Jazan at 1.13%, Najran at 0.58%, Al-Jouf at 0.55%, Northern Borders at 0.28% and Al-Baha at 0.23%.

For digital car rentals, Riyadh Region led with 31.62% of contracts, followed by Makkah at 24% and the Eastern Region at 14.62%. The remaining regional shares were Aseer at 7.72%, Madinah at 5.81%, Qassim at 4.59%, Jazan at 3.77% and Tabuk at 2.81%, with Najran at 1.53%, Hail at 1.30%, Al-Jouf at 0.81%, Al-Baha at 0.73% and Northern Borders at 0.63%.

The authority said the unified electronic contract standard is designed to secure the rights of lessors and renters, reduce disputes and streamline rental operations.
