Saudi Red Crescent And Health Endowment Set Up Ambulance Endowment
Community and donor contributions will be allocated under approved regulatory frameworks with governance and transparency embedded in disbursement.
The Health Endowment Fund and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority signed an agreement to establish an endowment-based financing mechanism for ambulance services across Saudi Arabia. The collaboration is intended to ensure effective and sustainable funding for emergency medical services within the nonprofit health sector, with a focus on governance and transparent allocation of resources.
The agreement aims to improve emergency response readiness nationwide. It will address ambulance transport and pre-hospital care, as well as responses to accidents and disasters. By framing support around core operational needs, the model is designed to reinforce service delivery across the Kingdom in a structured and regulated manner.
The endowment seeks to engage community members and donors in supporting ambulance services through monitored contributions. Oversight will be applied via monitoring and disbursement mechanisms that allocate funds according to approved regulatory frameworks. This structure is intended to ensure sustainability while promoting governance and transparency in how funds are managed and directed.
The agreement builds on both organisations’ efforts to develop a sustainable financing system for the nonprofit health sector and to enhance the effectiveness of endowment initiatives for ambulance services. Funds will be channelled in line with defined health sector priorities, with disbursements tied to regulatory standards that govern ambulance-related services.
