Saudi date production surpassed 1.9 million tons, with exports worth approximately SAR 1.7 billion.
Saudi dates are now available in over 1,500 branches of 15 major retail chains across more than 14 countries, with Germany emerging as a key market under an initiative by the National Centre for Palms and Dates.
The centre said Saudi dates have secured a strong presence in leading German retailers, attracting consumers with their high quality, compliance with international standards, and a diverse range of premium and value-added varieties. Widely incorporated into everyday meals, the dates have won admiration from shoppers who regularly include them in their purchases.
This global expansion is part of the centre’s “Empowering Saudi Date Exports and Entering Global Markets” initiative, which supports Saudi companies in boosting export reach and enhancing competitiveness. The palm and date sector has grown rapidly, with production surpassing 1.9 million tons and exports reaching around SAR 1.7 billion. Today, Saudi dates are exported to more than 125 countries, and the initiative aims to further increase export volumes, strengthen the sector’s contribution to the national economy, and advance Saudi Vision 2030.
