Advanced Brain Stem Cell Technique Developed in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center announced an advanced technique to generate brain stem cells from a patient’s own cells, placing Abu Dhabi among a select group of global centres advancing brain stem cell research.
According to the centre, the technique enables the production of brain stem cells derived directly from patient-specific material, creating new opportunities for research into neurological conditions at a cellular level.
The development focuses on expanding tools available to scientists studying the brain, particularly through approaches that use patient-derived cells to better understand disease mechanisms and biological processes.
Officials said the method aligns with ongoing efforts to advance regenerative medicine and cellular therapies, with an emphasis on translational research that connects laboratory findings with potential clinical applications.
