Registration for Ibdaa 2026 Open Until September 30th

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, also known as Mawhiba, confirmed that registration for the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, 'Ibdaa 2026', will remain open until September 30th. Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the competition is open to intermediate and high school students across all regions of Saudi Arabia in 22 scientific fields.

The annual competition is based on individual projects evaluated under set criteria and regulations. A panel of academics and specialists judges the projects electronically, reviewing submissions and assessing their compliance with the established framework. Following this stage, the judging panel selects outstanding projects to advance to higher competitive stages within the Olympiad.

Progression through these stages culminates in participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States, where qualifying students present their work alongside peers from around the world. The structure emphasises individual contribution, with evaluation conducted through a defined process that begins with electronic assessment and continues through successive rounds of competition.

Last year’s cycle, 'Ibdaa 2025', recorded a new high in participation, with more than 291,000 students registering from 16 educational regions and 49 education departments. Mawhiba and the Ministry of Education continue to oversee the programme’s nationwide reach, with eligibility extending to students in intermediate and high schools and participation spanning 22 scientific disciplines.
