Non-Oil Exports Surge 19% to USD 40.6B in First 10 Months of 2025
The United Arab Emirates led destinations at USD 6.33 billion after a 142% year on year jump, as building materials reached USD 12.8 billion and chemicals USD 7.72 billion.
Non-oil exports reached USD 40.6 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, an increase of 19% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Exports recorded USD 4.4 billion in October alone, rising 18% year-on-year, while non-oil imports totalled USD 57.2 billion between January and October 2025. The ministry noted that the increase in non-oil shipments, combined with tighter control over imports, contributed to a narrower trade deficit in non-oil goods over the period. The ministry attributed the export growth to stronger performance in manufacturing industries and higher demand across key markets. Export councils for building materials, food industries, chemicals, engineering products, and textiles all reported improved shipments during the 10-month period. The report also highlighted rising exports to European, African, and Arab markets, alongside continued efforts to support exporters through financing tools, export subsidy programmes, and streamlined trade procedures. Officials said the government would continue to prioritise non-oil trade growth, with a focus on expanding production capacity, improving logistics, and strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian goods in international markets.
