New Bridge to Cut Travel Time to Mall of the Emirates
This is part of wider upgrades around the mall, just as it gears up for a AED 5 billion expansion with new retail, dining, and cultural spaces.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Majid Al Futtaim Properties, has opened a new 300-metre bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road, giving motorists from Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali direct access to Mall of the Emirates car parks.
The single-lane bridge can handle up to 900 vehicles per hour, cutting travel time to the mall from ten minutes to just one. It’s part of a wider plan to improve access around the area, including upgraded junctions, expanded entrances, new cycling tracks, and enhanced pedestrian walkways.
RTA has also confirmed the upcoming Umm Suqeim Street Improvement Project, a six-kilometre upgrade adding new bridges, tunnels, and lanes to boost traffic flow from Jumeirah Street to Al Khail Road.
The opening coincides with Mall of the Emirates’ AED 5 billion redevelopment, marking its 20th anniversary.
