11 Egyptian Airports Receive Full Licensing & ISO Compliance
New licences and ISO certifications mark broader compliance across Egypt’s airport system.
Eleven international airports across Egypt are now fully licensed and compliant with local and international aviation standards, according to the Egyptian Airports Company.
Capital International Airport and Marsa Matrouh International Airport received full operating licences, while Sohag International Airport had its licence renewed for two years following upgrades to its airfield.
Sphinx International Airport, Assiut International Airport and Al Alamein International Airport were added to the licensed list during 2025.
Hurghada International Airport received a three-year renewal, while Luxor International Airport and Sphinx International Airport saw two-year renewals in 2026. The company also reported obtaining integrated management system certifications for the first time, including ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.
The certifications were applied across multiple airports, including Aswan International Airport, Sphinx, Al Alamein, Assiut, Luxor and Marsa Matrouh, following external audits conducted by SGS in early 2026.
ISO certifications were also renewed for Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, Alexandria International Airport and Sohag.
