NCEC Develops Vehicles to Monitor Environmental Pollution

The National Center for Environmental Compliance launched six first-response vehicles to strengthen environmental emergency response across Saudi Arabia. The units are equipped to measure pollutants and hazardous emissions and to intervene in dangerous chemical incidents, with deployments in Riyadh, the Northern Borders, Madinah, Makkah, Jazan and the Eastern Province.

All employees receive specialised training to operate the vehicles safely, including the use of gas detection equipment and protective suits, to respond to chemical, biological and hazardous material emergencies. The centre said the technologies support rapid response to environmental emergencies and contribute to community safety and environmental protection.

The mobile platform will expand the reach of environmental enforcement beyond fixed monitoring stations, advancing Saudi Arabia’s ambitions under Vision 2030 to modernise environmental infrastructure.
