Metro & LRT Timetables Adjusted Ahead of Winter Time Switch

Cairo’s metro and light-rail services will see adjusted schedules ahead of the country’s upcoming shift to winter time. The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) announced that the updated timetables for Cairo Metro Lines 1, 2 and 3 and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) are now in effect to ensure uninterrupted daily service. For the Metro: operations on Lines 1 and 2 will begin at 5:15 am from terminals including Helwan, New El-Marg, Shubra and El-Monib. The last departures will vary by station, with the final train leaving Helwan and New El-Marg at around 11:40 pm, Shubra at 11:55 pm, and El-Monib at 12:05 am. Additionally, interchanges between lines will close by midnight at key stations such as Sadat and Nasser. For the LRT: first services start at 6:00 am from Adly Mansour to the City of Arts and Culture, and 6:04 am in the opposite direction. The final direct train of the day departs at 10:15 pm, and the last trips on certain branches wrap up by 10:45 pm. The move comes as Egypt prepares to switch from GMT+3 to GMT+2 at midnight on October 31st.
