Health projects valued at more than SAR 1 billion have been launched in Jeddah under the patronage of Prince Khaled Al Faisal, with the ceremony attended by Minister of Health Fahad Al Jalajel.
The initiative was formally launched by Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, and includes the establishment of Makkah General Hospital, a major facility with a capacity of 500 beds. The hospital is set to provide services across surgery, cardiology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, endoscopy and day surgery.
The package also includes Al Laith General Hospital, a 100-bed facility intended to meet the needs of residents in the governorate and strengthen local medical services.
The projects form part of broader efforts to enhance health infrastructure in the Makkah Region and improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The region’s health ecosystem currently operates through more than 223 health facilities, serving a population of over 2.9 million people.
