Google Expands AI Mode to Arabic & 35 Other Languages
Powered by Gemini 2.5, AI Mode adds multimodal search and follow-up questions and appears as a tab in Google Search and in the Google app on Android and iOS.

Google has rolled out its AI Mode feature in Google Search to 36 new languages, including Modern Standard Arabic, extending availability across over 200 countries and territories. The update follows an English-language launch in the Middle East and North Africa in August 2025. The feature aims to let users explore topics in depth through longer prompts and contextual results. AI Mode is powered by its Gemini 2.5 model and builds on AI Overviews at the top of Search results. Users can submit questions via text, voice, or images, and use follow-up questions for deeper exploration. Google reports that in markets where AI Mode is live, users are submitting queries two or three times as long as traditional inputs. The company said AI Mode uses a “query fan-out” technique that runs multiple background searches and aggregates them into a single response to provide breadth and depth compared with standard results. The company added that it will continue adding features to AI Mode and plans future integration into the main Search experience. AI Mode appears as a tab on Google Search results and is accessible in the Google app on Android and iOS.
