Egypt has announced an official five-day holiday for Eid Al-Fitr, with the break set to run from Thursday, March 19th to Monday, March 23rd, 2026.
According to a statement from the Egyptian Cabinet, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly issued the decision granting paid leave to employees across ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, and public sector companies, as well as state-owned business sector firms.
Private sector holidays are typically announced separately by the Ministry of Labour.
