Egypt's Universities Go Remote March 25th & 26th Due to Weather
Rainfall is expected across the northern coasts, Delta governorates, Canal cities and Greater Cairo, in addition to large parts of North Upper Egypt, North New Valley, the Gulf of Suez and Sinai.
The Minister of Higher Education has directed the suspension of in-person classes at universities and education institutes, with studies continuing online on Wednesday March 25th and Thursday March 26th, due to forecasted weather conditions across Egypt.
Medical staff, university security personnel, employees in health and occupational safety departments and others whose work requires physical presence are exempt from the decision, and will have to work in person unless instructed otherwise.
According to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, Egypt is expected to experience rapid weather instability, with prolonged periods of heavy rain affecting multiple regions as colder air moves across the country.
