Egypt’s Tourism Grows by 22% in June
This follows a 26% surge in arrivals between January and May, compared to just 4-6% growth during the same period in 2024.

Egypt’s tourism sector saw a 22% year-on-year increase in June 2025, sustaining a steady upward trend despite broader regional and global uncertainties. This follows a 26% surge in arrivals between January and May, compared to just 4-6% growth during the same period in 2024. The boost has been accompanied by a rise in tourist spending.
In 2024, Egypt welcomed 15.8 million visitors - a 6% increase from 2023. The current momentum reflects renewed international confidence, driven by strategic reforms and a stronger global image. Recently, both the US and UK updated their travel advisories, with the US State Department reclassifying Egypt under its Level Two: Exercise Increased Caution category, placing it alongside France and Germany. UK guidance also noted that nearly one million British nationals visit Egypt each year, citing improved safety conditions.
Officials anticipate that the revised advisories will help drive continued growth, reinforcing tourism’s role as a key foreign currency earner. Government efforts remain focused on positioning Egypt as a top destination for cultural and heritage travel.
