Egypt Sees 24% Decline in Traffic Violations in First Quarter of 2025
Traffic violations across Egypt fell by 24% in Q1 2025, signalling stronger enforcement and improved driver compliance.

Egypt’s Public Prosecution has reported a 24% decline in traffic violations during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, reflecting growing compliance with road laws and improved enforcement mechanisms nationwide.
According to a statement by the Public Prosecution, the drop is attributed to a coordinated effort between the Public Prosecution, the Ministry of Interior, and national traffic departments. The authorities credited expanded awareness campaigns and a more visible traffic police presence for the improved figures.
The first quarter of 2025 also saw heightened use of surveillance tools and mobile checkpoints, especially during high-traffic periods such as weekends and holidays. These measures allowed for quicker intervention in cases of traffic offences, while also deterring reckless driving in congested urban areas.
