Egypt Re-Elected to Lead Arab Labour Organization Board
The board meeting, held in Cairo, unanimously appointed Egypt, represented by Labor Minister Mohamed Gubran, as chair for the 103rd session, which runs until October 2026.

Egypt has secured a second consecutive term as chair of the Arab Labour Organization (ALO)’s Board of Directors. The board meeting, held in Cairo, unanimously appointed Egypt, represented by Labor Minister Mohamed Gubran, as chair for the 103rd session, which runs until October 2026.
The election took place during discussions involving the ALO’s tripartite stakeholders — governments, employers, and workers — under the oversight of ALO Director-General Fayez Al-Mutairi.
Alongside Egypt’s appointment, Sheikh Rashid bin Amer Al-Maslahi from Oman was elected to represent the Employers’ Group, and Nasser Al-Jarid, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s National Committee for Workers’ Committees, was chosen to represent the Workers’ Group.
During the session, the board also reviewed agenda items including the conditions of Palestinian workers, financial and administrative reports, and plans for future ALO initiatives.
