A New Etihad Rail Station is Coming to Sharjah
Located near Sharjah Airport, this rail station will enhance the connectivity between the UAE’s residential communities and strengthen the connection between Sharjah and Dubai.
The city of Sharjah is on track for a more connected future with the new rail station coming to the emirate’s University City. Located near Sharjah Airport, this rail station will enhance the connectivity between the UAE’s residential communities and strengthen the connection between Sharjah and Dubai.
This new station is expected to transport around 14,000 people per day. Offering first class, business class and economy options, the trains that will stop there will be able to seat over 400 passengers and run up to 200 km/hour.
Etihad Rail is part of the UAE’s 900 km National Railway Network. The system connects 11 cities and regions across the UAE, including Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Al Dhaid, and Abu Dhabi in addition to Sharjah. The first journey on Etihad rail took place between Abu Dhabi and Al Dhannah this January. No date of completion has been announced for this stop.
