Minimum Wage Increases EGP 1,000 Starting July 2026
According to Madbouly, the increase is designed to support lower-income groups while keeping pace with current economic shifts.
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced an EGP 1,000 increase to the minimum wage, set to take effect at the start of the 2026/2027 fiscal year in July 2026.
The move comes as part of a broader social protection package aimed at easing the impact of rising prices and boosting purchasing power for employees across the state’s administrative sector, according to the cabinet’s statement.
According to Madbouly, the increase is designed to support lower-income groups while keeping pace with current economic shifts. The new minimum wage structure will also account for differences across job grades, ensuring adjustments vary depending on role and level.
