6,626 Outdoor Prayer Areas Prepared Across Egypt for Eid Al-Fitr
Preparations include designated prayer squares and major mosques, with arrangements made to ensure organised worship.
The Ministry of Awqaf has allocated 6,626 designated prayer areas across Egypt for Eid Al Fitr, in addition to major mosques where the Eid prayer will also be held.
According to the ministry, preparations were completed in advance, with prayer squares and mosques equipped to accommodate large numbers of worshippers.
Arrangements also include designated spaces for older worshippers and people with disabilities to ensure accessibility and an organised environment during the prayers.
The ministry outlined a set of rules governing Eid prayers at the designated sites. Worshippers are required to use only the locations identified by the Ministry of Awqaf, and no activities other than the Eid prayer will be permitted at these areas.
Officials emphasised the need to maintain cleanliness at mosques and prayer squares and to avoid damaging public property.
Coordination has also taken place with relevant government bodies and ministries to ensure smooth organisation. The ministry stated that crowd movement should allow for orderly entry and exit from prayer areas without obstruction.
Loudspeakers will be used at appropriate sound levels, while female preachers will supervise women’s prayer areas to help maintain organisation and provide guidance where needed.
