Telecomm Firm Ooredoo Launches Qatar’s First IoT Zero Trust Platform

Qatar-based telecommunications company Ooredoo has launched IoT SecureConnect, an operator-led Zero Trust cybersecurity solution for Internet of Things devices that it describes as the first platform of its kind in the country.

The launch comes as IoT adoption expands across sectors including smart cities, healthcare, logistics, energy, oil and gas, banking, government and industrial operations, increasing exposure to cyber threats targeting connected devices.

According to Ooredoo Qatar, the platform is built around Zero Trust security principles that continuously verify every connected device rather than relying on traditional perimeter-based security systems.

The company stated that the solution is designed to provide secure connectivity, strengthen data privacy and improve operational resilience across large-scale connected ecosystems.

Features of the platform include continuous device verification, proactive protection against evolving cyber threats, compatibility with existing IoT infrastructure and alignment with local and international regulatory standards.

Ooredoo added that the system is designed to support long-term scalability and resilience as organisations expand their connected device networks.

Hassan Ismail Al-Emadi, Chief Business Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, said the platform is intended to help organisations secure connected systems while continuing digital transformation efforts across different industries.

The company cited potential applications for the platform across smart infrastructure, healthcare systems, logistics networks, energy facilities, oil and gas operations, financial institutions and government services.
