UNESCO Cairo, the Italian Cultural Institute and Mazra’a Network for Arts & Culture are inviting Sudanese artists in Egypt to contribute to 'Journeys of Belonging: Art in Transit', an exhibition opening on December 18th, 2025 at the Italian Cultural Institute. Timed to coincide with International Migrants Day, the exhibition highlights the resilience and cultural presence of migrant communities, with a particular focus on Sudanese artists whose work has influenced Egypt’s art, music and wider cultural landscape. The organisers are seeking works that explore themes of migration, identity and belonging, providing a space for dialogue between migrant and host communities. Sudanese artists in Egypt can submit up to five pieces produced between 2024 and 2025 in any medium. Submissions are open until December 1st, 2025.
