Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition Showcases 1,200 Years of Heritage
Riyadh’s Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition highlights rare texts, innovative preservation, and global cultural dialogue.

The Saudi Manuscripts Exhibition, held in Riyadh until December 7th, celebrates over 1,200 years of human heritage through rare manuscripts, immersive displays and expert-led discussions. Organised by the Libraries Commission, the event merges historical preservation with modern innovation, offering 22 workshops and 30 panel discussions that explore the latest advancements in manuscript restoration and accessibility.
Visitors can explore more than 2,000 manuscripts, including ancient Qur'anic texts, scientific works, and cultural records from the Arabian Peninsula and the First Saudi State. Notable highlights include ‘The Title of Glory in the History of Najd’, preserved by the King Abdulaziz Public Library, and ‘Explanation of the Chapters of Hippocrates’, presented interactively with hologram technology.
The exhibition emphasises the use of cutting-edge tools to preserve and digitise manuscripts, fostering collaborations with international institutions. It also serves as a platform for cultural exchange, drawing significant attendance and showcasing the civilisational value of these historic works.
