Two New Regent and InterContinental Hotels Will Land in Saudi’s Riyadh

Following a management agreement between IHG Hotels & Resorts, a prominent global hotel company, and King Abdullah Financial District Management and Development Company (KAFD DMC), two additional luxury hotels will be added to the Riyadh skyline – Regent Riyadh KAFD and InterContinental Riyadh KAFD.

Located in the central hub of the Saudi capital, KAFD stands as the inaugural vertical city in the Kingdom, embodying the fundamental principles of Vision 2030 through its emphasis on sustainable design, eco-friendly operations and smart infrastructure. This innovative development encompasses a distinctive mix of assets, including office spaces, luxury residences, retail outlets, and entertainment and cultural venues – all of which make it a prime hospitality destination and the perfect fit for these two new ultra-luxury developments.

“Riyadh is undergoing a massive transformation, and locations like KAFD increase the number of investments into the city and the wider Kingdom.” Haitham Mattar, Managing Director of India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) at IHG Hotels & Resorts, tells SceneTraveller.

Scheduled to make its debut in 2027, Regent Riyadh KAFD, the first of the two hotels, will offer lavish experiences defined by tranquil elements and imaginative juxtapositions. The 250-key hotel will house various culinary establishments – encompassing a signature eatery, two specialty restaurants, a tea lounge, and two cafes –, a luxurious fitness facility, a Regent Spa, a Grand Ballroom, meeting rooms, VIP suites, and Bridal Suites.

As for the 400-key InterContinental Riyadh KAFD, it will feature five dining options – including a signature restaurant, two specialty restaurants, and a lobby lounge –, conference facilities, a fitness center, spa, swimming pool, and an indoor recreation area within a Retail Business Centre nearby.

At present, IHG manages 43 hotels under 6 brands in Saudi Arabia, including Six Senses and Staybridge Suites, with an additional 32 hotels slated to open in the next few years.
