Saudi Citizens Will Soon Be Able to Visit Russia Visa-Free

Visa-free travel between Saudi Arabia and Russia is officially set to begin on May 11, 2026, marking a shift that will allow citizens of both countries to move between them without the need for a visa. Under the agreement, travellers will be able to stay for up to 90 days within a single year, whether that’s in one uninterrupted trip or spread across multiple visits. The exemption is designed with short-term travel in mind, covering tourism, business, and family visits, while keeping other categories—such as work, study, residency, and Hajj—outside its scope, where standard visa requirements will still apply. In practice, that means easier access for everyday travel, without changing the rules for longer-term stays. The move builds on a reciprocal visa agreement first announced in December 2025, which laid the groundwork for this step toward simplified mobility between the two countries. With implementation now scheduled for May 11, 2026, eligible travellers on both sides will soon be able to plan trips with fewer formalities and more flexibility.
